Pirnmill – Your Village, Your Community – June 2026

Update from the Village Association trustees:

Dougarie Day 2026

This year’s Dougarie Day on Sunday 14th June is less than two weeks away.

People are needed to bake for the Home Baking stall, and to donate Tombola prizes. Please contact Greg (01770 850221) or Lizzie (01770 850230) if you can bake, donate or help on the day.

Fiona Laing Sponsored walk

Don’t forget to sponsor Fiona Laing on her sponsored walk and look out for her out and about. You can donate through the GoFund.me link below or there is a form to pledge your donation in the Village Shop. https://gofund.me/1b19c4089

Road closure at Machrie

We have been informed that the road between Dougarie and Machrie will be closed between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday between Monday 8th June to Friday 19th June. It is not exactly clear where this will operate but it states ‘north of Dougarie’ so expect it to run from the Machrie Rd turning to beyond the  Dougarie Estate entrance.  Note that the road will be open at the weekend so Dougarie Day is UNAFFECTED

Calmac Vessel Deployment survey

If you could not attend the Calmac consultation last week, you can access the information they presented through this link  CalMac vessel deployment consultation for Arran There is also a survey about people’s preference for the future ferry deployment for Arran. Please find this attached to the email of this notice. Choose your preferences and email these to arranvesseldeployment@calmac.co.uk
